Completing an entry permit
- Open Specialty Safety → Confined Space Entry
- Open the event for your work location
- The CSE Coordinator completes the assessment:
- Confirm the space is classified as a confined space
- Record atmospheric readings (O₂ %, LEL %, H₂S ppm)
- Document hazards and controls in place
- Select the type of work activity
- The system auto-classifies the entry type:
- No CSE — not a confined space
- Restricted CSE — limited hazards, entry permitted with controls
- Confined CSE — significant hazards, full permit required
- Assign entrant, attendant, and rescue personnel
- Attach the rescue plan
- Authorize the permit
During entry
- The attendant maintains continuous communication with entrants
- Atmospheric readings can be logged at intervals
- The permit remains Open until all entrants have exited
Closing a permit
- All entrants exit and are accounted for
- The CSE Coordinator closes the permit
- The closed permit is archived with all records intact
