What is Connex?
Connex is a scheduling and costing tool built into the OneSiteKit platform. It lets you plan multi-phase site operations on a visual calendar, automatically route work around blocked dates, enforce crew rotation limits, and generate cost roll-ups — all from one place.
Key capabilities
| Capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Visual Scheduler | Drag reusable event templates onto a calendar. Work days, rest days, and blocker conflicts resolve in real time. |
| Rotation Limits | Cap consecutive work days and enforce mandatory rest periods. Rotation state carries forward across chained events. |
| Linked Events | Chain events together so a dependent event repositions automatically whenever its anchor moves or changes duration. |
| Cost Roll-ups | Attach vendors, labor roles, equipment, and billable items to events. Costs update immediately as the schedule changes. |
| Report Builder | Pivot cost, days, and hours by event, vendor, labor, or work order. Export to XLSX. |
| Calendar Sharing | Share a calendar with your org, your company, or specific people — with configurable edit and cost-data permissions. |
| Roster | Define reusable labor, equipment, and billable item resources at the project level. |
Navigating Connex
Connex is accessed through the Scheduler dropdown in the top-right corner of the app. The dropdown has four views:
- Scheduler — the main editing calendar
- Reports — the pivot report builder
- Viewer — the read-only stakeholder calendar
- Roster — the resource library
Projects
Each Connex project is an independent scheduling workspace. Open the project switcher by clicking the project name in the top bar. From there you can create a new project, rename the current one, or switch between existing projects.
Project data — events, templates, blockers, roster — is saved locally in the browser on every change. Use Save to Cloud (top bar) to push a named snapshot to cloud storage so it can be shared with teammates.
TIP
Save your calendar to the cloud before sharing it. Everyone with access sees the same saved version.
